What does ThoughtBox offer?
We are a community of teachers on a mission: to help students learn how (not what) to think whilst exploring some of the biggest challenges in the world today. We believe in the importance of critical thinking, of challenging students to think outside of what they know and the value of supporting them to develop empathy and emotional health. By telling stories from across the world, ThoughtBox challenges students to “unlearn” what they think they know, practise tolerance and deep listening and allow new understandings of seemingly familiar issues to emerge.
We deliver transformative SMSC blended-learning curricular, CPD training and workshops, encouraging critical thinking and empathy building and promoting ideas from New Generation Thinkers (NGTs) – people leading the way in education, environmental sustainability, cross-cultural engagement and social development, allowing up to date research and information to be shared across our networks. Each month we open the box on a new topic to discuss, to debate, to explore, to share, to learn and to unlearn.
How do we work?
ThoughtBox supports schools by offering a range of resources, training, workshops and connections, all working to bring SMSC to life as our online curricular and interactive workshops explore a broad range of key global issues.
Schools can pick and choose from the bespoke resources listed above or can become ThoughtBox members and be supported in bringing a holistic approach to SMSC throughout the school by accessing all of these resources and more.
