Join an international network of young innovators…
ThoughtBox works closely with UK education organisation Bright Green Enterprise and Tanzanian innovation workshop Twende; both of whom have links with schools in Tanzania, as well as across the UK. As such, an exciting new project is being launched, bringing the two worlds together.
Creative Disruptors is an educational challenge for young people between the ages of 13-25, using Social Media platforms to engage them in creating and building appropriate technology innovations for sustainable development.
This six-month project is run by UK organisation Bright Green Enterprise and forms a collaboration between Bright Green Enterprise, ThoughtBox and Twende in Arusha, Tanzania. Open to participants in the UK and Tanzania, the project encourages students from both countries to work alongside each other; innovating and designing sustainable solutions for some of our more pressing global issues.
Our first challenge topic and theme for the project launch is:
Creative Disruptors requires participants to work in teams to discuss, create and innovate, thereby lending itself to a cross-curricula application including: STE(A)M (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics), geography, economics, global citizenship and SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural).
A key part of this project will be for students in the UK to understand how their peers in Tanzania are approaching the challenge by sharing the same learning platform – and vice versa. Teams in the UK will work closely with teams in Tanzania, sharing skills and cross-cultural learning with each other.
Creative Disruptors has been developed by a team of international organisations, each with the relevant expertise and practice to build and deliver this exciting project.
