ThoughtBox is a bespoke curriculum designed around the promotion of SMSC* education (*Spiritual -Moral – Social – Cultural), critical thinking and empathy building. We use a short film as the trigger for each lesson’s discussions; allowing students to engage first with the ideas raised in the film and then developing discussions to encourage critical thinking, questioning and empathy building around a range of curriculum topics. We aim to promote and explore topics relevant to our globalising societies, using stories from cultures across the world to allow a feeling of global citizenship to emerge.
Our downloadable curriculum is adaptive, easy to use and available for 11-18 year olds for use across a wide range of schools and learning centres. Each month, we provide a range of lessons for Y7&8, Y9&10 and Years 11-13 across a range of timings (with total of 9 lesson plans each week and 36 each month). Our lesson plans and curricular have been crafted to support the governmental outlines for SMSC provision, and your school will be provided with a document outlining how each curriculum topic is meeting the SMSC targets.
