THE THOUGHTBOX LEARNING JOURNEY

Our four stage approach has been created to support whole-school connected learning, empowering staff and enriching students through critical engagement with real world issues.

Our programmes have three main aims:

  • TO ENCOURAGE CRITICAL THINKING AND INQUIRY

  • TO SUPPORT EMPATHY BUILDING AND RESILIENCE

  • TO PROMOTE POSITIVE EMOTIONAL HEALTH BY MAKING CONNECTIONS

Our connected learning programmes allow students to gain the life skills they need in order to face the challenges ahead, to make sense of the world around them and to develop emotional intelligence.

WHAT SCHOOLS ARE SAYING

Introducing a weekly ThoughtBox item into our 20 minute Learning Time tutorial slots 2 years ago has helped the Academy to provide a structured approach to SMSC coverage across the whole curriculum. I know that I can walk around the whole building at 10.30 and see tutors and students engaging in fantastic levels of debate about current and important world issues.

The ThoughtBox resources have been a real hit with the Secondary phase. We use the 30 minute lessons every week and they brings about some excellent discussion points and debates.

The Healthy Classrooms CPD was a great opportunity to discuss, learn and reflect on key areas of PSHE. Rachel has led the training brilliantly, with high quality resources, excellent lesson plans and great supporting material. Thank you!
