How does this sort of learning help young people?

All ThoughtBox lessons help young people to practise and develop key life skills to help them take giant leaps forward in life. The learning journey encourages children to learn to think, develop compassion and empathy and find connections between different issues and ideas happening in the world around them, developing what we call ‘triple wellbeing’ by strengthening relationships with themselves and their emotions, with other people and with the natural world.

Through hands on, interactive learning experiences designed and developed by teachers, young people find inspiration, grow curiosity and learn to feel connected to the changing world.

A global-thinking curriculum

The ThoughtBox Learning Journey supports young people in developing emotional intelligence and life skills for triple wellbeing. Each unique topic explores a particular theme or issue, engaging young people in a journey to immerse, understand, explore perspectives and feel empowered in the changing world around them.

All of the lessons come as interactive PowerPoints written for young people to read and engage in themselves and with others in the household. Each topic encourages relationship building, strengthening relationships with themselves, with others and with the natural world.

How do the lessons work for each topic?

Each topic contains 4 x lesson plans that follow this format:

Week 1: IMMERSE
Engage with the topic and delve straight into ideas and learning.

Week 2: UNDERSTAND
Understand more about the topic and appreciate what is happening/why this is an issue to engage with.

Week 3: EXPLORE PERSPECTIVES
Look at different perspectives from across the world and explore the challenges and opportunities that come in responding to this topic.

Week 4: EMPOWER
Inspire positive action and empowered responses moving forward.

We are also offering free resources for parents and children through our daily School of Thought inquiry-based activities.
