What are you wearing to school?

A school in Tokyo, Japan has hit the headlines after announcing its new school uniform (made by Armani) will cost around $700 per student. With its pupils all under the age of 11, what sort of message does this give students about their identity, and what sort of learning ethos is underpinning this high-price consumer branding?
