The Transforming Education Summit is a three-day leadership development programme for Headteachers, Senior Leaders, Policy makers, Governors etc. to come together to explore ideas for transforming education to best meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.

Hosted in the beautiful grounds of Hawkwood Centre for Future Thinking, this is an opportunity to meet with other colleagues working in educational leadership to share reflections, experiences, best practice and supportive approaches to enable a thriving future for the next generation.

ABOUT THIS GATHERING

Schools hold the power to transform communities by transforming the learning that happens within.

As we face growing levels of mental ill-health, inequality, polarisation and an increasing climate & biodiversity crisis, more and more young people are finding themselves adrift, and our education system is struggling to respond. A recent education survey of 7000 teachers showed that 85% of teachers in England are not confident that the current education system is preparing pupils well for the future, and schools are now struggling to recruit enough teachers to effectively run a school.

A growing number of leaders now recognise that something has got to give.

Whilst changes in governmental policy take time, there is now a great deal happening on the ground to both meet the symptoms and address the root causes of our nested crises. This summit is an opportunity to explore and share together examples of transformative practices, pedagogies and policies to help support and co-create healthier learning communities.

Across the three days, we will journey from What is… to What if… to What now… in our role as system-leaders co-creating a future-fit education. This unique leadership-development programme offers you the space and time to:

  1. Come together with other leaders to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of education in a VUCA world

  2. Examine the symptoms we’re addressing in our schools and explore the root causes

  3. Share examples of current best-practice and opportunities for implementing positive shifts

  4. Explore tools, strategies and practices to support Triple WellBeing within educational settings

  5. Leave with tools, action-points, policy-mapping strategies

  6. Join an ongoing collaborative community

  7. Pause, reflect, connect and refresh in a beautiful part of the UK

This leadership-development retreat is designed to support you to grow resilience as a leader, share stories and strengthen practical experience alongside a community of supportive peers. It is an opportunity to step back from your context and take time to reflect, refresh and regenerate. At the end of this summit, there will be an opportunity to continue conversations by joining the Leadership Alliance and an ongoing community of practice.
